The District has started the process to recoup the costs associated with the storm. Representatives met with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on 30 June 2017 to provide initial estimates of the costs. The District may be able to recover 75% of the approximately $60,000.00 expended on storm recovery. The FEMA kickoff meeting is scheduled for 1 Sept 2017.
The District realizes that some trees that were growing on District owned property fell onto residents lots; the District will be evaluating the extent of the damage over the next few days and take action to remove the trees from residents lots.
